Just to let you know I received the Ares II. All is fine as expected – thank you.
I have let the system run for a few hours but had a cursory listen after about 5 hours, and I am extremely pleased. The pairing with the SPL Phonitor 2 via balanced XLR connections, driving a HEDDphone ONE seems like an excellent combination, which appears to bring out the best from all components in the chain. I suppose the weakest link is my laptop (running TIDAL HiFi) via USB. Nevertheless, the sound signature is perfect.
I need to have a few more hours listening to truly understand the nuances of the reproduction, but the initial impressions are excellent.
Well done for bringing the Ares II to market.
