The ARESII is now the main DAC, driven by a MacBook Pro and Audirvana for local hi-res files, VLC for network streams (mostly FLAC). Only Audirvana provides bit-perfect playback and control over sampling rates. I don't use software oversampling. The software choices for streaming FLAC is somewhat limited for MacOS, as most do not offer bit-perfect operations. For those, I have set CoreAudio to 96Khz to maintain compatibility with higher streaming services and avoid down-sampling.
I do not use Roon.
I also feed the SPDIF interface from an Allo DigiOne Signature transport, which is controlled by Raspberry Pi/LMS.
The line output feeds directly into the Burson C3R line-in below, which feeds a small Audio-gd power amp.
