I have been living with the Pontus II for two months now and the sound is really opening up now. It is a major upgrade when comparing with the Ares II I had prior to the Pontus.
I have a Meridian 218 controller/DAC and also a DAC in my fabulous AVM tube preamp to compare with, but none of them has the musical transparency and warm organic delivery of the Pontus.
I prefer the no oversampling slow filter when I stream from my Moon Mind 2 Streamer.
Truly a great product and I can only give the Pontus II my warmest recommendation.
